If you’re new to the area, our FAQ page has some extremely helpful links in getting your bearings in Custer County before breaking ground on any projects. The guidelines below will help in summing up what to send to the board in order to obtain construction approval (by mail or email):
- Site plan that includes lot lines and dimensions of all structures to nearest lot lines. The Custer County Assessor’s office has an excellent web site for viewing lot boundaries, for reference.
- House/structure plans that include:
- Plan view
- Elevations with maximum height dimension above finished grade
- Foundation details
Once submitted, a board member will be in contact with you either requesting additional details or granting construction approval. With that, you can obtain necessary building permits from the Custer County Planning and Zoning Office.
